Re: What's in a (skill) name?

Guys, I just answered the "why" and the reasons that lead me to adopt it. If you don't agree, fine, but it's not because the house rule don't have logic or no reason to be. I don't think that's useful to discuss finer points if we are not in the same page in the basics. Let's agree to dis...

Re: What's in a (skill) name?

The "problem" that the house rule tries to fix it's the number of skills that a savant character needs to get in comparison with a soldier/warrior type, specially when Knowledge tests are not that common. If a group like your skill list to be more like a simulation, more power for them. T...

Re: What's in a (skill) name?

There's no change to Common Knowledge. The new Skill represents formal knowledge or specific training relevant to the setting, but need not to be represented by various Skills (having to buy two or three Skills that are rarely used in game can be crushing). This house rule means to emulate action d...

Re: What's in a (skill) name?

... Specially Intimidation and Taunt since I incorporated these maneuvers as Tricks. I would reconsider this move. Taunt/Intimidate have different mechanics from Tricks, and there's a reason Tricks are "free" while ToW actions require skills. Piloting: includes Boating and the old Pilotin...

Re: Re:

Final note: I saw a setting that use Athletics skill too, and it uses (also) in place of Agility rolls during Chases. Men, I didn't think about that use, and of course I immediately added to my campaigns too. I considered using Athletics to replace the running die (making it a little more appealing...

Re: Savage Borderlands

Hello, Sorry, I forgot to update the link to the new file... I've fixed it now. Everything is translated up to the enemies list, "sSpirit" problems should be fixed and some typos too. I hope to be able to translate the bestiary in the next few weeks (it takes quite a long time as the layo...

Re: What's in a (skill) name?

i would probably merge climbing, throwing and swimming into Athletics and make it a Vigor based skill. none of the 3 come up very often on their own. I would not mix Throwing into the lot. I would instead offer a Professional Edge (call it Tri-Athlete) that boosts Athletics and Throwing. I'm fine w...

Re: Keeping track of status effects?

I've also considered getting some tiny red and green rubber bands, and draping those on minis to represent wounds and fatigue, respectively. That's a really good idea that I haven't heard before. Good thinking. I bet they'd work with figure flats, too. Might need to attach a bent paperclip or somet...

Re: The 3 wound limit and leveling up house rule proposal

Yeah, you don't need Edges that grant additional Bennies; just increase the Benny economy. Same effect... probably better, actually. As far as adding additional Wound Levels... I would put the absolute Max at +1 (for a total of 4 Wounds) and wouldn't even offer it until at least Veteran... with a he...

Re: [NE/SPC2] Making a triptych goddess

... it does seem wrong to not give her any defensive abilities at all. Should I just rely on the Maiden's Regeneration and just hope to not die in one round? Not trying to be facetious. What would you suggest? This can actually be part of the concept: the Crone is a heavy damage dealer, but also su...

Re: Keeping track of status effects?

Kk, thanks all. I have this problem where I burn my brain on crafting nick-nacks. And I end up with tools I don't need. Sometimes I have to do a reality check. Well whatever works for some might not work for others. If chips, beads, stones, etc just add clutter (and take up real-estate better serve...

No worries. I understand where the criticism is coming from. I'm a gamer too. (Although I do wish someone up thread hadn't been quite so quick to speculate that maybe I was being a jerk to my customers - but que sera, sera ) Well, if I'm thinking of the right person I will vouch on his behalf. Re: Looking for a grittier superhero experience? Extreme Earth is on sale

I certainly wouldn't want to put out a book that was less than acceptable. I thought we had here- based on freelancer's guidance and remarks from Savage fans who had looked at the book. If that turns out to be incorrect -we will fix it. This is very encouraging. We all understand that sometimes mis...

But there is a power... called boost/lower Trait. And it stacks with itself.

Re: Looking for a grittier superhero experience? Extreme Earth is on sale

I assume you're talking about the Punchbag character specifically? That was a deviation we allowed for thematic reasons and I believe we put an explanation for that specific change in the book. I'll double-check the book to verify. If you're referring to something else - please let me know DoctorBo...
