Re: Another Centaur > need feedback

Gang Up Bonus is hard-capped at +4. Unless some special ability changes that, normally more than 5 people shouldn't attack someone. Wait, wait... Are you saying that I played "badly" 'till now?? :o Naaah, I don't think so. Let's take this situation: E|E|E E|H|E E|E|E We have 1 Hero on a s...

Re: Savage Borderlands

Nice work! The idea is cool, and the PDF is well built. Here some problem I found starting the skim: Page 6, CL4P-TP: well, I feel you did the whole thing pretty complicated. I suggest you to use the standard "Race Creation" rules, turning the whole thing in standard Racial Abilities. Page...

Re: Custom Summon Ally

Are there any guidelines for creating custom allies for the summon ally power? Want my 2 cents? (not only mine, of course) The standard Ally you can get with 3 PPs is an Extra, built with 5 "Stat points", and 15 "Skill points".You can add hindrances (as you do with standard char...

Re: Another Centaur > need feedback

For a normal guy, the max is +4 and only so many can get adjacent to him. Mmmm... Maybe I didn't understand your phrase, however: I think that a "normal guy" occupying 1 square can be surrounded by 8 opponents (at Reach 0"). So, in the worst scenario, you could be hit by 8 enemies, a...

Re: Re:

but I do caution against rolling Throwing into the mix Well, throwing is (usually, at least at my table) a very very poor as skill, even as combat skill. Almost all my players dump it away. Even in ancient settings, there are few thrown weapons worth the price of that skill. In modern ones, it's to...

Ah, that's a good one! Perhaps "Deception" or "Subterfuge"? Indicates that you're skilled at maintaining a poker face, and perhaps also at reading other people (expressions, motives, tells, body language, etc), as well as forgery and bluff. It could also cover disguise, as I nev...

Re: Another Centaur > need feedback

With that said, I would also write up a few centaur-specific Edges for the setting. One mitigating the Gang Up bonus (likely at Seasoned) and something along the lines of: Heel Kick Req: Novice, Agility d8, Fighting d8 The centaur can make one attack as a free action to any opponent adjacent to its...

Re: Grappling Questions

Just a note: it wasn't an opposite roll, in the older Savage Worlds versions - and, by the way, I appreciate more the old version, 'cause it's more consistent, and it's uses the same bonus/penalties - for example if the enemy wild-attacked, you have more chances to grapple him. Of course, this is ma...

Re: New AB: Overdrive

Golems ... are unable to regenerate power points naturally. Probably I didn't read the whole thing right, but I can't understand how the Golems can regain their PPs without regenerate them automatically. Maybe you should go with a different method, I feel the whole fatigue thing as not very themati...

Re: Final Fight/Streets of Rage type Setting?

Wasn't there a licensee game coming out set in the beat'em genre of the 90s? Anything come of it? Anyone do something similar? It could be really fun. However, I feel you can easily do it with the base Savage Worlds book. You have almost all you need: weapons, more weapons, improvised weapons, vehi...

Shape Change clarification

Hi Clint. I read several old questions about Shape Change, so I'm pretty covered. However, I'm still doubtful about the hero's/animal's skills. What if the hero has Agility/Strength based skills at higher level? Let's say my hero has climbing and fighting at d10. He turns into a Ogre. Does he lose c...

Re: [GRAMel] Reign/Region Errata in Beasts and Barbarians

Tell me if it is clearer now (yes, I am using you as a guinea pig ;)). Of course it is. However, you could probably keep it simpler writing it this way: Magic is always mistrusted in the Dread Sea Dominions, but the hero is a particular case: he truly dreads it. With the minor version of the Edge, ...

Re: Re:

Though really now for simplicity (and balance), I'd probably limit the max to +4 just like normal Gang Up. Just means it only takes 2 additional foes instead of 4 to reach that. Yeah, this could be better. I could use it in the future. However, I'll probably stick with a simpler: Poor Defense (-1):...

Horizontal: Centaurs fill a 1"x2" space which allows for more foes to attack them. Since (unlike horses) their eyes are primarily facing forward, foes may benefit from improved Gang Up bonuses against them. Each additional attacker grants a +2 bonus up to a maximum of +6 (for three additi...

Ola Kristian. Thanks for the generator. I was wondering to build something similar, but you saved me a lot of work!
Out of curiosity: did you use the "updated" tables, for example the Powers one at page 84 with d6 & d10 rolls?

Re: [Fantasy Companion] Review + Random thoughts + Patches

Other notes. In my Fantasy Companion updated version (in the 2nd page I see (c) 2009, 2012): at pag. 90, 2nd column, you find "If you want to place a cursed item in your adventure, pick one or roll 2d20 on the table below." The table was updated, so the text should indicate "roll 1d6 ...

Re: [Sneak Attack Press] Drakonheim Savage Companion

Nice work guys. About 30 pages of useful stuff, you can use it in every setting, particularly in fantasy ones.
I loved the extra edges, nice additions to two-handed warriors, archers, tribal marks, totem berserks, etc.
Also, Goblin and Hobgoblin playable races are pretty nice to have.
