Re: New AB: Overdrive

Golems ... are unable to regenerate power points naturally. Probably I didn't read the whole thing right, but I can't understand how the Golems can regain their PPs without regenerate them automatically. Maybe you should go with a different method, I feel the whole fatigue thing as not very themati...

Re: Final Fight/Streets of Rage type Setting?

Wasn't there a licensee game coming out set in the beat'em genre of the 90s? Anything come of it? Anyone do something similar? It could be really fun. However, I feel you can easily do it with the base Savage Worlds book. You have almost all you need: weapons, more weapons, improvised weapons, vehi...

Shape Change clarification

Hi Clint. I read several old questions about Shape Change, so I'm pretty covered. However, I'm still doubtful about the hero's/animal's skills. What if the hero has Agility/Strength based skills at higher level? Let's say my hero has climbing and fighting at d10. He turns into a Ogre. Does he lose c...

Re: [GRAMel] Reign/Region Errata in Beasts and Barbarians

Tell me if it is clearer now (yes, I am using you as a guinea pig ;)). Of course it is. However, you could probably keep it simpler writing it this way: Magic is always mistrusted in the Dread Sea Dominions, but the hero is a particular case: he truly dreads it. With the minor version of the Edge, ...

Re: Re:

Though really now for simplicity (and balance), I'd probably limit the max to +4 just like normal Gang Up. Just means it only takes 2 additional foes instead of 4 to reach that. Yeah, this could be better. I could use it in the future. However, I'll probably stick with a simpler: Poor Defense (-1):...

Re:

Horizontal: Centaurs fill a 1"x2" space which allows for more foes to attack them. Since (unlike horses) their eyes are primarily facing forward, foes may benefit from improved Gang Up bonuses against them. Each additional attacker grants a +2 bonus up to a maximum of +6 (for three additi...

Re: [FC] Fantasy Companion Loot Generator

Ola Kristian. Thanks for the generator. I was wondering to build something similar, but you saved me a lot of work!
Out of curiosity: did you use the "updated" tables, for example the Powers one at page 84 with d6 & d10 rolls?

Re: [Fantasy Companion] Review + Random thoughts + Patches

Other notes. In my Fantasy Companion updated version (in the 2nd page I see (c) 2009, 2012): at pag. 90, 2nd column, you find "If you want to place a cursed item in your adventure, pick one or roll 2d20 on the table below." The table was updated, so the text should indicate "roll 1d6 ...

Re: [Sneak Attack Press] Drakonheim Savage Companion

Nice work guys. About 30 pages of useful stuff, you can use it in every setting, particularly in fantasy ones.
I loved the extra edges, nice additions to two-handed warriors, archers, tribal marks, totem berserks, etc.
Also, Goblin and Hobgoblin playable races are pretty nice to have.

Re: [GRAMel] Reign/Region Errata in Beasts and Barbarians

Errata: pag. 94 " it can deals terrible damage at distance. It is a very old gladiatorial arm , also named spiked Chakram" It should be "weapon". Pag. 90 probably" Flails" should be formatted as a category. (and... Just 1?) Pag. 170 Phalanx Officer, the customized "...

Re: [GRAMel] Reign/Region Errata in Beasts and Barbarians

I jump on the wagon just to ask a clarification about the Fear of Magic hindrance. The question is: which parts of the hindrance are related to the minor version, and which to the major one? 1 - From what I understand, I see an initial "fluff/roleplay" part: He tries in every way to avoid ...

Re: [Sundered Skies] Flying Wildlings?

Probably it' setting related. I'm playing the campaign, so I still don't know everything, however in the Sundered Skies there are no birds (if memory serves me well). You can find flying whale-like monsters, and weird razor-winged manta like "birds", but no birds.

Re: Let's talk about Jack-of-all-Trades

With that said, here are a couple new proposals (apart from anything I might have said earlier): • JoAT applies to ALL untrained skills (justifing the high Smarts requirement). GMs should set clear defining lines as to how extensive this plays in their campaign before the game starts so players can...

Re: Mecha Pilots Fighting Werewolves In Space

The set-up is that players are Mech pilots who specialize in fighting occult forces in space colonies. Werewolves on the moon, vampire space pirates, zombie outbreaks, sorcerers summoning demons, ghost-mechs, ect. LOL - damn, I don't know if I could play this one. And I played pretty weird things i...

Re: Let's talk about Jack-of-all-Trades

My real issue with JoAT is that the characters it actually make sense for, and who will make that 3 Attribute point commitment to get it, are likely to already have a d4+ in most of the various Smarts-based skills. Thus, the only benefit they get from JoAT is miscellaneous Knowledge skills (includi...

Re: Let's talk about Jack-of-all-Trades

The rule on disallowing an unskilled roll is specifically if the GM determines the character has <italics added> " no chance at a particular skill if he has no training." Meaning if a character wants to use Knowledge (Medicine) to diagnose a disease, yeah, that might be possible without t...

Re: Let's talk about Jack-of-all-Trades

We are OT, however... i was rolling against Target Numbers ranging from 6-10. but at least i was able to make a roll. Still, your GM was very permissive. That was really an easy way to permit a character with "Universal Knowledge". Also, you weren't SO lucky. If you are an hero, and you ha...
