Greed Is Good: The Coalition

This week is a look at the Coalition, a country that owes its existence to war profiteering and are cutthroat traders. Covers a little of its history and its present state and aims.

Classified, Declassified, Unclassified

Apologies for the lateness of this week's post, tis been a hectic few days.

But the meat of this week's post is a more in-depth look at the society of the Iron Collective and what is meant by Classified and Unclassified.

Plot Points, Sandboxes and Tales of Savagery

Recently been reading 50 Fathoms and I've been asked a few times whether or not Frozen Skies is a Plot Point Setting. Figured it was high time that I explained how I envisioned the Frozen Skies setting working in relation to all this.

I'd argue that "railroad" and "sandbox" represent the two extremes, and a Plot Point Campaign can sit anywhere on the continuum between them. The 50 Fathoms Plot Point Campaign leans heavily towards the sandbox end of the spectrum, as it's left pretty much entirely up to the players to decide what they want to do.
My blog: Savage Stuff. I've also written some free tools and supplements.

Tis something I'm hoping to sort of capture with Frozen Skies, a case of "you have your vehicle, have fun".

Reading through 50 Fathoms has certainly made me think about how I'll be doing Plot Point Campaigns for Frozen Skies, trying to keep them a bit open ended with stuff happening based upon the players' actions.

You could always offer Mini Plot Point campaigns much like those seen in the Deadlands Regional Guides.

Alyeskan Skyships Committee

This week we discuss ideas behind Frozen Skies' Skyships, chiefly designs and how they work. Course these are ideas at the moment and open to input, so feedback will be most welcomed.

Also, will look to start producing stats for them at some point in the not so distant future.

State of the Press September 2015

An update regarding events and conventions for this year and next. Also a bit about funding for Frozen Skies and options that are being looked at. Finally, there is a little treat...

Hoping to build up a batch of stats of different types of Skyships, in addition I also plan to stat up a more conventional Zeppelin.

Alyeskan Gazetteer: Prospector's Reach

Another Gazetteer, this time the forsaken town of Prospector's Reach. Nestled on the edge of the cursed Chillwynd Marches, it is a mustering point for expeditions heading into the haunted frozen plains and frequently feel the chilly touch of the Marches' whispering winds.

Remnants

This week we take a look at the Ancient Terrans' legacy that folks are likely to encounter from ruins through to artefacts and something else entirely. Least some of this week's post should prove useful as fodder for adventure ideas.

I'm also taking requests/suggestions for posts, so if there is a Frozen Skies related topic then by means let me know. Cheers.

Communications For The Masses

Thanks to Jubal of Exilian for the topic.

This week we have a look at ways of sending a message to somebody, we also look at how Alyeska gets its news. A few things that can be worked into a game, either as an adventure seed or to help bring the world to life.

Day later than planned due to a bout of illness, but heres this week's post. Inspired by recent holidays and events I've decided to cover those that happen in Darmonica.

Apologies for being a day late again, been bit of a busy week.

This week's post it seemed natural to build upon the last couple of posts and cover recreation in Alyeska.

Gearheads, Scrappers & Canners

Often with machines there will be those who are passionate about them in some form or another, they may be those who tinker with machines as a hobby for those who put serious investment of both time and money into said machines. In Darmonica they are known by many names, Gearheads, Scrappers and Canners.

This week is their moment in the spotlight.
